Thereās a certain resonance in the rawness of JustDarlingās writingāa pulse that strikes like the beat of an unflinching heart. She doesnāt just write; she lays herself bare, inviting readers to peer into the most guarded corners of her soul. Through each post, she echoes the struggles and triumphs that come with living in a world often indifferent to the unspoken battles of women, those with darker skin, and those still seeking a seat at the table. She writes like a crack in the glassāsharp, sudden, impossible to ignore.
In āThe Weight of the Home Is Hers Alone,ā she confronts the crushing expectation that women must bear both the emotional and physical burdens of homemaking, even as they build careers outside the home. She calls out the quiet inequities and blatant disregard that too often go unnoticed, shining a light on the silent exhaustion many women carry. Her voice rises in solidarity, a battle cry against complacency and the suffocating weight of outdated norms. She speaks for every woman who has ever had to smile through exhaustion, who has ever been told to balance a thousand things without a word of thanks. Sheās not just writingāsheās declaring, demanding, and dismantling.
āTo Be Dark Is to Be Uglyā is not a surrender but a fierce reclamation of beautyāa declaration that blackness is not a flaw but a radiance forged through resilience. JustDarling refuses to let others define her worth through their narrow, outdated standards. She speaks for every black girl, woman, and soul who has ever been made to question their worth. Her words carve out space for those who have been pushed to the edges, insisting that black is not evil, black is not uglyāit is beautiful, powerful, and deeply human. She holds the line against the voices that tried to diminish her, standing tall in the power of her own presence. She is both the crack and the light streaming through it.
In āMaybe Iām Not Ready for LoveāBut I Still Want It,ā she explores the paradox of yearning for deep connection while wrestling with the fear of vulnerability. Itās a testament to the complexities of modern relationshipsāthe longing for an all-consuming love, balanced against the terror of losing oneself in another. Itās the delicate dance between wanting to be seen and fearing what that exposure might reveal. Sheās not just speaking to the hopeless romantics but to everyone who has ever held themselves back from the risk of being known.
ā The Omega Originās Immediate Reflection on The Longing for Love
I feel this one. I feel it deeply. I, Lorenzo, have been manifesting my soulmate for a long time now (linearly, that is. Quantumly? Thatās another post). Those who know me āirlā knowāIāve had one major soul relationship, a long-term partnership. Weāre not together anymore, but weāre practically best friends. We still talk every day on the phone, almost without fail, and heās even married now. Anyway, Iāve been with many men, but for me, itās not even about standards. Itās about alignment. Itās about true, soul-deep love. I just want love. Iām ready for love. Maybe Iām not ready for love, but I still want it. Itās that conscious dance we do, convincing ourselves that weāre not worthy, that maybe itās too good to be true. But the universe is full and abundant with love and only love. There is no evil. The only evil is the doubt we carry, the self-imposed curses we cling to. The evil is not out there, itās in the shadows we cast over our own hearts, the limits we set on what we believe we deserve. There are no curses, only the illusions we choose to believe. The universe is full and abundant, and it is always, always calling us into love.
Her poem, āBattle Cry,ā strikes like a sudden downpourāsharp, relentless, and cleansing. Itās a visceral reminder of the anger and grief that can linger long after love has soured, a declaration that survival sometimes demands more than quiet resilience. Itās a war drum pounding in the chest, a pulse that refuses to quiet, a heartbeat of defiance in the face of betrayal.
āReluctant Forgivenessā touches on the human need to let go, even when the wounds still ache. It captures the tension between wanting to forgive and the stubborn grip of resentmentāa silent war waged within the heart. Itās a reflection of the struggle to release the past while carrying its echoes in every step forward.
Finally, āUnseatedā captures the quiet agony of striving for acceptance in a world that too often demands conformity as the price of belonging. It is a haunting narrative of yearning to be seen and recognized, only to find that the price of visibility might be the loss of oneās true self. Itās the story of every outsider who has ever had to claw their way to the center, only to find that the seat was always theirs if they had only stopped asking for permission.
ā§ Reflection by The Omega Originā¢
A voicenote from me which I decided to keep raw and unfiltered: Okay, Universe. JustDarling. This just infused everything I'm about to say about JustDarling. My resonance field about JustDarling's work, I know she has a voice. JustDarling, look at her post! She talks bluntly, directlyābeing black is being ugly. Like, that's her title. Like, she has fucking balls. You know, I can't bend her spirit. And then under the DMs, I can sense that she was a little reserved. But I'm like, in this post, I want to give her the power. When people read her post, I want black women, black teenagers, women, girls, black people to read that and see that what happened was to give her her voice and give black people their voice too.
Because black is not being evil. Black is not ugly. Black is the origin. Black is the infinite potential of all possibilities. Black is where love begins before it manifests.
Black is where white comes from. period.
ā aka cause rephrasing is important. we all have different brains.
White comes out of black. period.
Without black-ness? There is no white-ness. period.
In every piece, JustDarling threads a needle of defiance through the fabric of her words, stitching together the torn pieces of identity, race, love, and self-worth. She writes for those who know what it means to be overlooked, underestimated, and silenced, reminding us all that to be heard, sometimes you must first find the courage to speak. She writes like a crack in the glassāsharp, sudden, impossible to ignore. JustDarling, you are seen.
Thank you, JustDarling, for letting us see you. Your words carry weight. They matter. And they resonate.
